TOUR INFORMATION

This three centre self-guided motorcycle holiday takes you to some of the premium biking regions of Northern Europe. From the historical and fascinating Ardennes region to the vine covered slopes of the Mosel Valley.

This tour has no particularly high mileage days and therefore would be suitable for anyone. The riding as always can be challenging but if you are an experienced rider or it is your first time on the continent this tour could be just what you are looking for.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1 - 216 miles

Following an early morning Euro tunnel crossing you begin your day by quickly transiting the industrial areas of France. Clear of the motorway system you begin to enjoy some fabulous rural roads as you enter the Avesnois regional park before eventually crossing the border into Belgium. Your onward journey continues through the Ardennes national park as you follow the Meuse and Semois Rivers to your first overnight stay in the historic town of Bastogne. This small town was pivotal in changing the course of the Second World War and contains many museums and monuments dedicated to the sacrifice of the soldiers who fell to preserve the freedom we enjoy today.

Day 2 - 137 miles
Today you are free to create your own itinerary or take the supplied ride-out which takes you into Luxembourg and the pleasant rolling countryside of the high Ardennes plateau. En-route you can visit the 101st Airborne Division (Band of Brothers) memorial and the actual foxholes the men dug in the Bois Jacques woods on the outskirts of the town.

Day 3 - 240 miles
Using a mixture of quiet back roads and Autoroutes you make your way South through Belgium and France until eventually crossing the River Rhine into Germany. The terrain becomes more mountainous as you now enter the Black Forest and continue to your traditional family run hotel set in the heart of the forest.

Day 4 - 140 miles
No trip to the Black Forest would be complete without riding the famous Schwarzwaldhochstrasse or B500 as it is better known. The road is the centre piece of the area and the supplied ride-out gives you the opportunity to experience one of Europe’s biking legends. The roads which twist and turn through the undulating terrain will see you riding up through forested mountains before descending back into the valley below. The Black Forest has something for everyone, from fast sweepers, interesting hairpins and fantastic landscapes.

Day 5 - 190 miles
Today you leave the Black Forest behind and the scenery changes dramatically as the steep vine-covered slopes of the Mosel region begin to dominate the landscape. En-route you enter the Pfalzer and Saar Hunsruck National Parks. With mile upon mile of almost traffic free twisty forested roads, it is no wonder that this area is a favourite with local bikers. Your hotel is located in the Moselle-Saar-Ruwer region of Germany and is ideally placed to explore the castles and numerous small villages which line the river.

Day 6 - 120 miles
The supplied ride-out takes you on a scenic route through the surrounding countryside and to one of its most famous attractions, the Nürburgring.  Although this is primarily a motorcycle holiday there is still plenty to occupy your time if you decide not to take the ride-out. You could for example take one of the many river cruises which leave from the local town or perhaps hire a cycle from the hotel and spend the day sauntering along the river.

Day 7 - 288 miles
Following breakfast you now head towards the Eiffel region of Germany and the Des Hautes Fagnes National Park before joining the motorway system for your final push back to Calais and your mid-day crossing back to Folkestone. Euro Tunnel times are flexible and can be changed to suit individual requirements.
